Worth It? GenBeauty + Swag Bag
We hope you are ready for another amazing week.
Today we are switching it up a little and talking about the recent event we attended, GenBeauty.
Was the event worth it? Was the GenBeauty Swag Bag worth it?
We are spilling everything so let’s dive in!
GenBeauty is an event hosted by Ipsy. If you are not familiar with Ipsy, it is a beauty bag subscription. For $10 a month they send you five deluxe size beauty products that range from skincare to eye shadows to bronzers to mascara and literally everything beauty related. Anyways, GenBeauty is an event held twice a year once in San Francisco and once in New York City. Each event hosts over 20 large beauty brands and usually has a few popular creators attending [like Kandee Johnson, Mario Dedivanovic, NikkieTutorials, etc].
There were SO many products in the swag bag but below are the ones we are most excited to try and a few that we already own and love.
PUR Cosmetics Contour Sponge
Note Long Lash Mascara
Meg PM Mask
Benefit High Brow, Make Up For Ever Step 1 Equalizer, Luxie Brushes
Jouer, DermaE Radiant Glow Face Oil, Ciate Lipstick.
Overall, the event was fun. I got to meet a lot of new bloggers and see some of my favorite blogger babes. I really went to the event to network with some of my favorite brands. If you know me, you know how important I think networking is. The swag bag was surprisingly full of new products that I was excited to try and I got to see a lot of new brands at the event. There was really only a handful maybe 7-10 products that I wasn’t excited to try or super impressed with.
Favorite Products from the swag bag:
The OMG Masks, Beauty Water, Tarte Palette, Note Mascara, OFRA Highlighter and Grande products.
Was it worth it? Overall as a creator I would say yes. As a beauty blogger, I made SO many new and valuable connections with beauty brands. It not only helped me create a presence but it started a lot of new relationships with companies I have been wanting to work with. If I was going as a makeup enthusiast with some friends, I think the ticket price is a bit steep. It is a fun event but majority of the booths have their products available at a discounted price with game options to win things. If you are already paying over $100 to attend the event, in my experience, I would expect a few more freebies. They claim the swag bag is worth $300+ but the event is $100+ so the ticket price knocks that down a bit.
The event pricing ranges from $118 and up depending on if you use promo codes. As a creator the event is complimentary. Would I go again? Yes I would but maybe every other year unless they had completely different brands each year [then I would go to make more connections].
