As I worked out this morning I couldn’t help but think about this day throughout my entire workout. I was a freshman in high school at the time – my mother came and picked me up in a panic – I had no idea what all the fuss was about and had never really heard or understood what a terrorist attack was so for me it was a free pass from school. Looking back now I am so beyond grateful that my family and friends were safe that day. My father lost his boss that day – a man who he respected and often referred to as a wonderful man. My heart goes out to his family and the families who have lost someone on that day. I cannot imagine the pain you feel but each year I hope it gets better for you. Please be sure to hug and love your loved ones today – tell them how much they mean to you.
I am so proud to be a New Yorker today and seeing all the love on Facebook just reinforces what a strong America we can be when we are undivided.
Last, to the heroes who defended and continue to defend our country – Thank you so very much – Your hard work does not go unnoticed -RIP – Never Forgotten 9/11
