How To: Blow Dry Your Hair Like A Pro
This week we have our beautiful friend Stephanie from Salon Kroma joining us.
She is ready to answer all of your burning questions and to give us some professional guidance on how to blow dry like a pro!
As you know, we like to consider ourselves a semi-pro at everything in life, but we thought this week we would let Stephanie takeover.
Oh – and because we love you all so much – we threw in an AWESOME giveaway and a discount to Salon Kroma at the end of this post!
Okay, Let’s get professional:
Question: What are some tips for making the blow dry process quicker or less time consuming?
Answer: “I recommend pre drying your hair. Basically using just your hands and the blow dryer to take all the moisture and water out. It will take forever if you hair is soaking wet. Typically I would say make your hair about 60-70% dry before smoothing it with a brush.”
Question: What are the best brushes or brush to use?
Answer: “I recommend a round ceramic brush. It will help smooth your hair without using too much effort. The ceramic heats up with the blow dryer and will make your hair smoother and will help it dry quicker. The bigger the brush you use the straighter your hair will be and the smaller the brush you use, the more volume and flips you will have.”
Question: Do you have any tips on how to make a blow out last longer?
Answer: “I would say when you are shampooing only use a drop of conditioner on your ends if needed. Your scalp produces enough oils, no need to add conditioner to more oil. It should save you an extra day without washing it! Also, try not to run your hands through your hair too much. All the oils and lotions on your hands will make your hair greasy.”
Question: What are the best products to use or do you have any general product recommendations?
Answer: “It all depends on what kind of blow out you are going for. Before I blow out every single client, I use UNITE 7seconds Leave in. It’s a thermal protector and adds a ton of shine without making your hair greasy and heavy! This is literally a miracle product! 7seconds is good for a straight blow out or if you are looking for one with more flip to it. When I’m doing a blow out with more bounce, I tend to put Moroccanoil Volumizing Mouse. It will hold the flip and curl of your blow out while keeping the volume.”
Question: What is your favorite brand(s) for tools (ie – flat irons, curlers, blow dryers, etc)?
Answer: “My favorite blow dryer is made by Rusk! My favorite curling irons are always hot tools and my favorite hair straightener is BaByliss. I like a little variety LOL.”
Question: Do you have any other tips for great hair care?
Answer: “Besides coming to Salon Kroma and walking out and feeling fabulous ;)…Always use the right shampoo, conditioner and products designed for your hair.”
Question: What is the best tip or trick you ever learned?
Answer: “I’ve learned that when you look good, you feel good and that your hair is your biggest accessory. You wear it every day!”
