Fall Reading List for the Girl Boss
Happy Friday! We hope you had another awesome and successful week!
Today we are trying something a bit different. Since we love to read, and we love a good recommendation, we figured we would share what books are up next on our fall reading list.
Also, we’ll have you know that this isn’t a typical reading list. We like to dive into a lot of business and entrepreneur books however, we are excited about these books – and – would love to hear your recommendations so please comment below with any books you think we may enjoy!
Our 2017 Fall Reading List:
White Girl Problems: This book has been on my list forever. I have heard that this book as well as the sequels are such a funny read that I know I need to start at the beginning and get going.
The Wedding: Yes, I know it seems so cliche to have a Nicholas Sparks book on the list but I can’t help that I love his writing! His books are one of the few that I know I can never put down no matter what the story is.
The Outsiders: Eight Unconventional CEOs and Their Radically Rational Blueprint for Success: I know this may sound ‘nerdy’ but I love reading business books and especially business books about CEOs. There is something so rich about the information they deliver and I feel like majority of the tips and talks can be transformed into many aspects of your life.
TroubleMaker by Leah Remini: I know this book has been out for a while, but I never got around to reading it and it’s driving me nuts! I’m so fascinated by things like Scientology and Polygamy [I don’t know why but I am]. I love her sense of humor and I think this book will be a fun read.
The 10x Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure: Grant Cardone is wild. Seriously, if you follow him on Instagram he is funny and brutally honest which is a combo I dig. I have heard so many great things about his books so I think it is finally time to dive in.
Break Your Own Rules: How to Change the Patterns of Thinking that Block Women’s Paths to Power : According to the book “Women hold just 11 percent of the most senior-level leadership positions in U.S. Corporations—a number that hasn’t changed in over 30 years. How can women break through? Break Your Own Rules distills the six faulty assumptions (or “rules”) most women follow that get in the way—then delivers the correlating new rules that promise to clear that path.” I love learning new tips especially about changing thinking patterns. I think if you change the way you think, you open so many new doors.
White Hot Truth: I love Danielle LaPorte’s books. They are some of my favorite ‘self-help’ books and they alway find a playful way of mixing wisdom, humor and spiritual aspiration.
Anna Kendrick: Scrappy Little Nobody: Similar to Leah, I love her sense of humor. I think this will be a fun, quick read full of funny stories and about how she navigated the industry.
Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business by Barbara Corcoran: Aside from the fact Barbara Corcoran is one of my favorite women in business, I love to read stories about successful women and how they made it. It always inspires me to read how women break through a ceiling.
Bonus*: I have already read my dad’s book, The Kiss Off by Stephen Larkin, but if you haven’t and you love a good murder mystery then you need to check it out now!
