Review: Violet Voss x Laura Lee Palette
It is time for another product review!
Let me start off by saying I bought this palette with my own money and was not asked to do a review.
All of my reviews are my own honest opinions and this is not a sponsored post.
Normally I start my reviews with the product description, but this palette doesn’t really have a description so we’ll just jump right into it.
Violet Voss is a company that sells a range of beauty products from shadow palettes to lashes to lipsticks. I have never purchased from before so I was kind of nervous to make a big purchase from them and especially online (without seeing the product). If you follow Laura Lee on YouTube you will see she is all about finding great products. She is always mixing it up with drugstore finds and high end products. She is very passionate about the products she loves so I knew her palette would be made with a ton of love and the consumer in mind.
First of all, the box packaging is seriously so dang cute!
Product: Laura Lee 20 Shade Eye Shadow Palette
Price Point: $45 plus shipping and tax. At first I thought the total price ($53.00) was a little high (with the shipping and tax), but after thinking about it most of my favorite palettes available at stores like Sephora start at $50!
Review: I am happy to say I am extremely impressed with this palette! I think my favorite thing about this palette is that you can create so many different looks with all the different colors. The colors give a ton of options for day time vs night time and subtle vs bold. It is extremely lightweight and I feel like it is a palette that I can travel with where I won’t need another palettes assistance to finish the look. It has lights, darks, mattes and metals and it just hits all the different shades that I love. It also has unbelievable transition colors which makes it incredibly easy to build a beautiful blended eye. I seriously love that I could just bring this palette and I would be set.
Pros: I can’t handle how dope these colors are that Laura picked. I mean DAMN. If I was going to make a palette it would be so similar with maybe only a few more random colors like vibrant purples or greens. I also love that it has an amazing combo of matte shadows, foiled metal shadows, and satin shadows. The shadows are very pigmented and very easy to blend. The metals are SO freakin’ smooth [like buttaaa] when you put them on. I like how lightweight the palette is and that the shadows aren’t heavy. Again, the box it came in was absolutely adorable [I almost wish the inside of the box was the cover of the palette but whatever]. Anyways, I think this will easily be my go-to palette this summer and fall.
Cons: The only thing I didn’t love, was the actual palette packaging. The palette is lightweight – which is great – but for $45 bucks I guess I was expecting more or a better quality package. It doesn’t feel very protected like if I dropped it for some reason the shadows might break. It almost has a heavy cardboard feel which again I don’t love.
Favorite Colors: The entire second row, Yoshi, Rammer Jammer, Alabama and Smashlee.
Overall: This was my first purchase from Violet Voss and I am very happy. I would love to try their lashes and if they come out with more single shadows. It is so versatile. I can see myself taking this palette on a work trip or on vacation. In a nutshell, I would highly recommend this palette if you are looking for a all-in-one, high quality, killer palette.
