DIY SUGAR SKULL FACE PAINT

Last Friday night I had to pull something together quickly…in my entire life I have never dressed as anything even remotely scary for Halloween so I figured it was time for a change.
Here is my DIY Sugar Skull Face
Buy your face paint/Gather your makeup (I bought these paints and used my own eye shadows/lashes/eyeliner)
Paint your eyes (I chose to do red because I wanted something bold and different but you can use whatever color you prefer; I painted a nice sized circle around my eyes/eyebrows using a smaller makeup brush)
Draw around your eyes with a matching color eyeliner pencil. (I chose to do half-loops but a lot of people prefer drawing dots. I found a wet-n-wild red eyeliner pencil that matched perfectly)
Add shadow to your eyes. (I chose to use a deep red on the corner of my eye by my nose and a dark red/black combo on the outer corner. I added a little black shadow under the lower lid. I finished the look with black eyeliner)
Doodle. (I started with a heart in the middle of my forehead. I then proceeded to draw lines from the heart to my hairline and then horizontally from line to line to create the web look. I added a little grey shadow under the connecting lines to give it some definition. I then added the stitches line by my mouth and created some lips. For the lips I drew another heart shape but without the point on the bottom).
Doodle some more and add your nose. (I added black to my nose with a small makeup brush. To make the taller lines I used the tip of an eye shadow brush. Last I added some swirls and dots to complete the look.)
Finishing Up. (I blew out my hair before starting so I didn’t have to worry about my wet hair ruining the makeup. The I did some loose waves with my CHI straightener. I chose to wear a black dress with red fishnets, black leg warmers, and a red half sweater.)
(I also added some red, black and white stitching across my chest with a Q-tip.)
ALL DONE! Have Fun
