A few weekends ago a good friend of mine asked me about how I apply my makeup. Well here it is.
This look is one of my more natural/sun-kissed looks and I’ll break it down into steps for you. PS- I am not a professional nor claim to be. Everything I have learned has been through experience, reading, YouTube, etc.
Step 3: Prime your Face (optional)
(I use Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. Apply no large then a dime size to the face.)
Step 4: Apply Foundation
(I use Clinique Even Better in 06-Honey. I have been using Clinique foundations since 8th grade and they have never given me that awkward white ghost photo-face that doesn’t match your body. If you ask the sales person for help they will help you find the correct foundation for your skin-tone. I apply the foundation to my whole face AND NECK – I use my fingers or a makeup sponge)
Step 5: Apply Concealer(s)
(I use two concealers. The first is Estee Lauder’s Smoothing Creme Concealer – my bottle is so old that you literally can’t read the writing on it anymore. It is thick and covers the most hideous pimples like magic. I only use this if I have pimples I’m trying to hide – not on my whole face. The second concealer is Smashbox High Definition Concealer in Medium. I use this concealer under my eyes and on the top of the apples of my cheeks)
Step 7: Apply Booster
(There are two different boosters I use regularly. The first is Physicians Formula Happy Booster. The second is Benefit Sun Beam. For this look I used the happy booster. I apply this only from the apples of my cheeks in an upward motion towards my hairline. I also dust a tiny bit around my hairline by my forehead and down the sides.)
Step 8: Apply Liner, Shadow(s), Mascara, Eyebrows
(I use several different types of products. For this look I used: Stila Smudge Pots in Black for my Liner, BH Cosmetics Palettes for my shadows, Smashbox Full Exposure for mascara, and Lancome Le Crayon Poudre for my brow pencil. I used a light brown matte shadow for my upper eyelid, a green shimmer shadow for my lower part of my upper eyelid and a golden shimmer shadow in the corners of my eyes and under my lower lash line.)
